The B.C. Provincial Government have now taken over our professional development. What if the government told us that each teacher needed to add just one page to an ongoing and developing textbook? There are about three thousand teachers per grade. What if five hundred worked on a math book? You could simply divide the concepts up and teachers would submit their plans, worksheets, games, enrichment, and differentiated instruction. Could it be done in one day?
The Provincial Government would save a lot of the tax payer’s money, we would have a great resource to teach from, and the students would have an up-to-date textbook with inspiring lessons. The site could be organized by grade and subject, be searchable, and have the top rated pages always at the top of the search. Some of the saved money would be used to keep the site operating well and to give teachers some incentives for doing a great job.
What if the government used their greatest educational resource, the teachers, for the good of all?
